Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 11, 2026

LanguageBids ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website at languagebids.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you register for an account, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Company information (optional)
  • Communication preferences

Authentication is managed through Auth0, a third-party identity provider. LanguageBids does not receive or store your password. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Apple, your credentials are handled entirely by those providers via Auth0 — we receive only a verified identity token confirming your email address and identity.

1.2 Payment Information

We do not store your credit card information. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you provide payment information, it is transmitted directly to Stripe using industry-standard encryption. We only receive and store:

  • Your Stripe customer ID (a reference number)
  • Last 4 digits of your card (for display purposes only)
  • Card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
  • Subscription status and billing dates

For more information on how Stripe handles your payment data, please review Stripe's Privacy Policy.

1.3 Usage Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service:

  • Pages viewed and features accessed
  • Opportunities saved and viewed
  • Search queries and filters used
  • Login times and session duration
  • Device type, locale, and browser language
  • Referrer and campaign attribution parameters (UTM tags)
  • Country code from edge headers where available

For analytics event logs, we do not store raw IP addresses. We store a salted, one-way hash for abuse detection and aggregate measurement. For security purposes — including fraud detection, unauthorized access detection, and audit logging — we may store IP addresses in internal security logs. Security log data is used only for platform protection and is not used for marketing or advertising purposes.

1.4 Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. We also offer optional first-party analytics tracking that is enabled only when you grant analytics consent. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process your subscription payments and send receipts
  • Send you deadline reminders for saved opportunities
  • Send account-related notifications (trial ending, payment failures, etc.)
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • Monitor for security threats and prevent fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Email Communications

We send the following types of emails:

3.1 Transactional Emails (Cannot Opt Out)

  • Welcome email upon registration
  • Password reset confirmations
  • Payment receipts and invoice notifications
  • Subscription status changes
  • Trial ending reminders

3.2 Service Emails (Can Opt Out)

  • Deadline reminders for saved opportunities
  • New opportunities matching your preferences

You can manage your email preferences in your account settings or by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any service email.

Important: We are not responsible for any losses, missed opportunities, or damages resulting from undelivered emails, email delivery delays, spam filtering, or if you have opted out of deadline reminder emails. Email delivery depends on factors outside our control, including your email provider's systems and your email settings.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers who process personal data on our behalf:

  • Linode Object Storage (Akamai Technologies) — Document storage and delivery. Procurement documents attached to opportunity listings are stored in Linode Object Storage. Access is controlled via time-limited signed URLs. Akamai Privacy Policy
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — Network security, CDN, and DDoS protection. All traffic passes through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata for security purposes. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
  • Formspree — Contact and data-request form handling. When you submit the Contact or Data Removal Request form, your submission is processed by Formspree before being forwarded to our team. Formspree Privacy Policy

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

  • Payment data handled exclusively by PCI-compliant Stripe

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your account data for 90 days in case you choose to reactivate. After 90 days, we delete your personal information, except:

  • Transaction records required for tax and accounting purposes (7 years)
  • Data required to comply with legal obligations
  • Anonymized usage data for analytics
